January 01, 2015
Legend has it that Valentine’s Day used to be about celebrating simple acts of love and kindness. Somewhere along the line it turned into a high-pressure holiday with quite the price tag. Let’s ditch the craziness and get back to L-O-V-E. We’ve collected small gift ideas that pack a big love punch to prove that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to make a lasting impression. Try mixing and matching these tiny gestures to show your lovelies how much you care.

Hide and seek love notes

Nothing is sweeter than being surprised by a love note. Leave messages of love in funny places for your sweetie to find throughout the day, like on the bathroom mirror, hanging in a Ziploc® brand bag in the shower, on their cereal spoon, in their jacket pocket, on the bottom of their shoes, in a gallon size Ziploc® brand bag at lunch, or simply in a midafternoon email. You’ll have fun thinking of what to say and where to put the notes, and they’ll feel special all day. Hide and seek love notes

Start the day on a charming note. Serve a “hearty” breakfast that will make them smile—like heart-shaped pancakes, waffles, or French toast. Or try this egg and toast “heart in a nest.” Pick Valentine's themed meals for lunch and dinner, too, like heart-shaped sandwiches or pizza.  The quickest way to their hearts is through their stomach
