Frozen Banana Blueberry Smoothie

Serves 1
Need a smoothie you can prep and store in the freezer for later? Heck, half of this speedy, delicious, protein-packed breakfast is made in the freezer! Instead of ice, sliced banana and blueberries are tucked into the freezer in a Ziploc® brand bag until you need them (freezing the fruit makes the ice in other smoothie recipes unnecessary, and the smoothie even creamier.) Pop a frozen portion into the blender, then add the rest of your ingredients and give them a whirl until it’s ready to pour. Proof that with a little prep breakfast can be easy and delicious!

Ingredients

  • ½

    cup of blueberries

  • ½

    Banana, sliced

  • 1
    Medjool Date, pitted and chopped
  • 1

    tbsp of oats

  • 1

    cup of almond milk

  • 1

    tbsp of almond butter

Directions

Make ahead:

  • 1 Split a banana and slice, put in two Ziploc® brand sandwich bags. Add ½ cup of blueberries to each and place bags in freezer for at least four hours.

Ready to eat:

  • 1 Place frozen, sliced banana and blueberries to blender. Add the date, oats, almond milk and almond butter, and process until creamy and smooth. If smoothie is too thick, add more almond milk.
