DIY Hand-Painted Napkins

Table linens are so important during the holiday season. After all, when your guests come a- knockin’ you want to be able to put your best hostess foot forward. Being a bit of a do-it- youselfer, I prefer to purchase basic linens and spruce them up using my own artwork. Plus, if Uncle Sal starts telling his crazy stories at the dinner table, you can change subjects and tell your guests about this project!


Materials:

  • Cloth napkins 
  • Acrylic paint 
  • Fabric sealer 
  • Paintbrushes

Directions

  • 1 Mix fabric sealer into the acrylic paint according to instructions on the bottle.
  • 2 Paint motifs onto the napkins. For mine, I focused on the corner of each napkin so that it would frame the utensils once I set the table. I used the swirl design from the Ziploc® brand Holiday Collection, because I thought it brought some quirkiness to the table.
  • 3 Wait for the paint to dry, then set the table and dig in!
