Gold Star Wall Hanging Craft
When hosting a party, I like to create my own decorations instead of shopping for them (this helps with my budget). Plus, I love getting the most out of the things I do buy, like when I use packaging for craft projects. Gold Star Wall Hanging Craft
Materials
- Empty boxes (this is a great way to upcycle your Ziploc® packaging)
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Gold spray paint
- Spray glue
- Glitter
- Twine or ribbon
- Tape
- A tree branch
Directions
- 1 To make your own wall hanging, flatten the packaging and draw the shape of a star. Cut out each star, then spray paint with gold. Once the paint dries, spray each star with glue and sprinkle with glitter. I like to do this over a Ziploc® container so I can reuse whatever doesn’t adhere to the glue. Then, use tape to secure the stars to a length of ribbon or twine. Set aside and spray paint a tree branch gold. I found mine while walking my dog, but this is a really fun activity for the kids to do, too. Once the branch has dried, tie each star garland to it and hang on a wall. I put mine above the sofa, but you can also hang it in the entryway to your home and snap photos of guests as they enter your home—it makes the perfect photo backdrop!
Fancy Concessions Stand
What’s the best part about going to the movies? Why, the concession stand treats! Make your own at home by melting chocolate and dipping in fun, readily available treats. Fancy Concessions Stand
Ingredients
- Potato chips (I like shopping for different chip textures)
- Pretzel rods
- Meltable chocolate
- Edible glitter
Directions
- 1 To make your treats, first melt your chocolate. Then dip in chips and pretzels for a fancy but easy snack. For an added touch, I like to give mine a sprinkle of edible glitter to make them extra fancy. Plus, the addition of sugar totally creates that delicious sweet and savory combination. Serve alongside your favorite concession stand candies and popcorn.
