Greek Meatballs On A Stick

I’ve been eating these meatballs for as long as I can remember. After all, it’s my mom’s recipe! As a kid, I used to sit at the kitchen table and watch her and my grandma (Yia Yia as we call her in Greek) mix up a big batch of these delicious little bites with their hands. The spices are so fragrant that just thinking about it brings me back.

Ingredients

  • 1

    lb ground beef

  • 1

    lb lamb

  • 1
    egg
  • ½

    cup Italian bread crumbs

  • 1

    tsp dried oregano

  • 2

    tsp dried basil

  • ½

    tsp dried thyme

  • ½

    tsp garlic powder

  • 1

    tsp onion powder

  • 1

    tbsp olive oil

  •

    Salt/pepper to taste

  •

    Feta - for topping

Directions

  • 1 Combine all of the ingredients except for the feta in a large bowl and mix together with your hands.
  • 2 Once everything is well-combined, firmly roll portions into 1 inch balls.
  • 3 Place on a lined baking sheet with a little bit of space in between.
  • 4 Bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until golden.
  • 5

Once they are finished, I suggest serving them up and encouraging guests to sprinkle a bit of feta on top!
