Help Sunday Help You — 3 Ways To Prep For Your Week

July 01, 2014
On Sundays, the week ahead might look long and daunting, but it doesn’t have to be that way. When it comes to meal prepping, anyway. Get the whole family to help prepare meals and snacks, and store them in Ziploc® bags and containers for the week ahead. It’s a great time saver and can turn out to be a pretty fun family activity—and if they don’t believe you, just make them try it again.

Smoothies

Mmmm smoothies. So delicious, but so hard to make in the morning. Fear not, smoothie drinking friends! A little preparation can go a long way. On Sunday, throw your favorite smoothie ingredients, minus the liquid base, in a Ziploc® Freezer Bag and store for the week.

Any kind of smoothie works, but here is one of our favorites: Peaches and Cream Smoothie.

Marinades

Nothing beats grilling in the summer time. But marinating your veggies and/or meat takes time. Make your marinade on a Sunday and store it in a Ziploc® marinade bag. On the morning of the day you know you want to grill, just throw your meat or vegetables in the bag and let them soak until it’s time to throw them on the grill!

You can do it with just about any marinade, but here’s a favorite of ours: Barbequed Chicken Wings.

Snacks

Prepping a week’s worth of snacks pays off big after school. Cut up vegetables and fruit or parcel out dry snack items like chips, pretzels or cookies in Ziploc® snack bags. The more you have prepared, the easier your snacking. Snacks
